Programs
Hope Charities works hard to help families in crisis caused by bleeding disorders.
➩ RESOURCE Connection
In times of need it can be difficult to know where to go for support or how to locate and access resources. We can assist you with these needs, whether it is connecting to HOPE resources or those made available by other organizations. We strive to match you with services and solutions that are free or charge or have minimal costs. Our case managers will work with you to find available programs that suit your needs and can help you through the application process. Our goal is to shorten the time you spend searching for resources so you can focus on caring for your loved ones. Some of these resources include transitional living, dental programs, counseling, compassion medication, emergency food, health insurance premiums, co-pay assistance, financial assistance, medical debt, social security, disability, assistive technology, disaster relief, durable medical equipment, utilities, communication/phone, housing, and transportation.
➩ DIRECT PATIENT ASSISTANCE
The Direct Patient Assistance program helps to support people in financial crisis caused by a bleeding disorder. When families are in a prolonged crisis due to bleeds or other injuries, their financial concerns present an added level of emotional stress. Our goal is to support families during these difficult times by paying for utilities, food, housing, clothing, communication, medical expenses, transportation, and medical equipment. We can fund a maximum of $1,500. Contact us at [email protected]
➩ Access to Care
The Access to Care program pays insurance premiums on behalf of patients with a chronic illness who cannot afford insurance or who have lost or will lose their health insurance coverage. Hope Charities recognizes that having medical insurance is a critical component for effective treatment and management of bleeding disorders. We know firsthand the stress endured by families who have lost or are faced with losing their insurance coverage. Our goal is to help patients in crisis maintain medical insurance and have continuous access to appropriate medical treatment and medication.
➩ HOPE EDUCATIONAL GROUPS
Individuals suffering from chronic illness often report feeling alone and misunderstood. HOPE Educational Groups are small groups of individuals who gather virtually, learn about topics relevant to their condition, share experiences and connect with individuals with similar experiences. This is a great way to build community and resources and get involved. Our goal for these groups is to connect with individuals when they are not in crisis and help them build relationships with other members of their disease community.
➩ BENEVOLENCE
The Benevolence Program allows us to fund the immediate crisis needs of patients in small amounts. This program is designed to meet a one time or short-term urgent need that cannot be accommodated by the Direct Patient Assistance Program.
➩ DISASTER RELIEF
The Disaster Relief Program allows HOPE to raise funds to be disbursed to patients to meet immediate needs created by the disaster.
➩ THIRD PARTY ADMINISTRATION
Through Third Party Administration, HOPE contracts with other companies or organizations to be the administrator of their charitable programs.
➩ INDIVIDUAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE program
The Individual Financial Assistance Program was designed to help patients meet financial needs that exceed what can be funded through the Direct Patient Assistance Program. Through this program, a fundraising account is established for the patient. Hope DOES NOT raise funds on behalf of the individual; we are the account holder and make payments on behalf of the patient. Funding for the account comes from individual fundraising efforts (i.e. patient’s family, friends, community, etc.).
