Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day in-person workshop that teaches participants to recgonize the warning signs of suicide, ask directly if a person is thinking about suicide, and conduct a complete intervention including a plan for safety for the person with thoughts. This training is designed to increase caregiver competence and confidence in working with a person at risk.
Participants will learn an evidence-based model of intervention using a variety of learning methods including lectures, interactive questioning, participation in a small group, and role play.
